Where: This hideaway village and its sandy beach are reached by road in one hour from Sanur. A short boat ride then takes you to Blue Lagoon and other nearby dive sites. Highlights: Bright white sand and colourful corals are home to everything from the smallest reef fishes to all manner of marine life; Rays, Cuttlefish, Crocodile Fish, and frequent Shark andTurtle sightings. Conditions: Much more gentle and protected than the islands off the East coast, and for this reason usually with much warmer waters too. BLUE LAGOONDifficulty: 1 The white sandy beach and shallow clear blue waters make this an excellent site for both snorkellers and divers. Underwater, the bright sand and healthy bommies always offer something interesting ; Octopus, Eels, Crocodile Fish and Stonefish to name just a few. Head north and you can find a short but rich stretch of wall. Excellent night diving location. JEPUN TO TURTLE'S NECKDifficulty: 1 This shallow stretch of coral and rubble always seems to offer some excellent non-fish marine life; sometimes juvenile Sharks, sometimes Cuttlefish, sometimes Octopus. One of the best sites in Bali for a Turtle encounter. BLUE LAGOON TO TANJUNG SARIDifficulty: 1 Another shallow dive, with vibrant corals leading down to a sandy slope. With colourful reef fish, and very often bright sunlight and warm crystal clear waters, this is what tropical island diving is all about.
