Curious about teaching scuba diving? The PADI Assistant Instructor course (AI) is the first part of the full PADI Instructor Course (IDC). The second part of the PADI Instructor Course (IDC) is PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor course (OWSI). Taking both the Assistant Instructor course and Open Water Scuba Instructor course (plus the PADI Instructor Exam) leads to certification as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. However if you don't have time for the whole Instructor course, you can take just the PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) Course in less than one week here in Bali.
As a PADI Assistant Instructor you will start learning the PADI System of diver education. It's a great way to gain experience and build upon your abilities to organize and supervise scuba diving activities. During the Assistant Instructor course you'll learn through self-study, quizzes, lectures and presentations. In the water you'll have a skill review and assessment, workshops, plus an in-water rescue assessment. In the classroom your Course Director will work with you to develop your skills to prepare and deliver various candidate presentations to improve your teaching skills. Prerequisites and Course Content: To enter the PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) course you need to have Divemaster certification, CPR & First Aid training taken within the last 24 months, and medical clearance to dive signed by a doctor within the last 12 months. You'll need to be at least 18 years old and have 60 or more dives and have been a certified diver for at least 6 months to begin the course.
