PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) Course in Bali

PDF Print E-mail
Curious about teaching scuba diving? The PADI Assistant Instructor course (AI) is the first part of the full PADI Instructor Course (IDC). The second part of the PADI Instructor Course (IDC) is the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor course (OWSI). Taking both the Assistant Instructor course and Open Water Scuba Instructor course (plus the PADI Instructor Exam) leads to certification as a PADI Instructor. However if you don't have time for the whole Instructor course, or if you are just curious about teaching scuba but not ready to committ to the complete IDC, you can take just the PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) Course in less than one week here in Bali.

As a PADI Assistant Instructor you will start learning the PADI System of diver education. It's a great way to gain experience and build upon your abilities to organize and supervise scuba diving activities. During the Assistant Instructor course you'll learn through self-study, quizzes, lectures and presentations. In the classroom your Instructor-trainer will work with you to improve your teaching skills, and in the water you'll work together to improve your general diving skills and your in-water rescue skills.

Prerequisites and Course Content:

To enter the PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) course you need to have Divemaster certification (PADI or a different diving agency), CPR & First Aid training taken within the last 24 months, and  medical clearance to dive signed by a doctor within the last 12 months. You'll need to be at least 18 years old and have 60 or more dives and have been a certified diver for at least 6 months to begin the course.

The PADI Assistant Instructor course takes 5 days and costs US$725 if taken during the first 5 days of the IDC or $800 if taken outside IDC dates. Included;

  • PADI Assistant Instructor course
  • Daily lunch & soft drinks
  • Free use of rental BCD, regulator, wetsuit
  • Tanks, weights, belts
  • Free Wi-fi in our dive centre

Excluded;

  • PADI required materials (IDC crewpack + How to Choose & Use Dive Computers): US$623
