What is the PADI Divemaster course?

The Divemaster Program is your first step into the professional diving world. If you feel like becoming a leader or a mentor and a respected PADI Professional, you are on the right path.

Becoming a Divemaster is like having an International passport to work as a Dive Guide around the world. You will have the opportunity to earn a living doing something you love and that others only dream about: follow the sun, lead new and experienced divers and share your passion with others.

It’s time to do something different, challenge yourself, and take what may be a life-changing step.

Working closely with our team of Instructors at Bali Scuba, you will greatly improve your dive theory knowledge and in-water skills.

One of the benefits of taking the Divemaster course in Bali is that you can experience a range of diving conditions. You’ll develop better buoyancy, better movement in the water, you’ll dive with greater confidence and learn more about the different types of diving equipment. You will redefine your rescue skills to better anticipate and easily solve problems in the ocean.

You’ll learn how to read the currents and understand the tides… Both the tides of the ocean and those of people!!!

You will also improve your own diving knowledge: about currents, about equipment, about the human body and how diving affects it, about depth and pressure and the air we breathe. Most importantly you’ll learn about decompression sickness (‘the bends’): the signs and symptoms, how to avoid it and how to treat it. You’ll learn about our beautiful oceans. How precious and fragile they are and how to protect them.

Finally, you will learn how to give dive effective and professional briefings for certified divers, you will guide and supervise certified divers, supervise training activities, conduct scuba reviews and skin diver courses, assist in Discover Scuba Diver programs and be a role model to divers.

Why should I take my Divemaster training with Bali Scuba?

• Bali Scuba is Bali’s Premier dive centre, operating for 20 years
• PADI Career Development Centre (a higher level than PADI 5 star)     operating since 2012
• Bali Scuba focus on dive pro training and we also specialise in training the Instructors that the other dive centres use
• We proudly hold many of PADI’s ‘Outstanding Contribution to Instructor Development, that makes us one of the best CDC centre in Indonesia
• 5 Star facilities (own purpose-built scuba training pool, classroom, buses, free wi-fi…)
• Friendly and professional Team here to assist you with diving and non-diving activities

Why should I take the Divemaster course in Bali?

  • Bali is a world class diving destination. Shipwrecks, Manta, and amazing fish and corals are all throughout our beautiful island. The dive sites in Bali are rich, healthy and vibrant. Training in this tropical island is the best place to have a balanced life between work and lifestyle.
  • And how about the Bali climate? The weather is great all year round in Bali, with some rain between December to March. Unlike other Asian dive destinations we don’t have a monsoon season, meaning we enjoy great diving all year round!

What are the prerequisites to join as a Divemaster trainee?

You’ll need to be at least 18 years old, a proficent swimmer, have a sense of adventure and a ‘can do’ attitude! You don’t need to be an expert diver to enrol as a Divemaster internee, but you will be an expert by the time you have finished!

If you are a total beginner you can take our 2 month ‘Zero to Hero’ program.

Depending on your current dive certification and number logged dives we’ll create a program that includes everything you need. You are welcome to stay up to 2 months as a Divemaster trainee.

What equipment do I need to start?

You’ll need a full set of dive gear: mask, snorkel, fins, boots & dive computer, you’ll also need two surface signalling devices – one audible and one visible, a compass and divers knife. We have a special Divemaster equipment package which includes all these items for the just IDR 8,000,000. We want you to leave Bali Scuba as a fully equipped ready-to-go Dive Professional. We offer free rental of wetsuit, BCD and regulator during your program.

What are the options for Divemaster training?

If you are limited on time and already a certified Rescue Diver with at least 45 logged dives we can run the Divemaster Express course for you in just 14 days. Of course it’s better if you can stay longer, so if you have more time available you’re welcome to stay up to 2 months to practice your Divemaster skills and do more diving.

A great way to get ahead is to study the dive theory online first. Click here to take PADI eLearning. The eLearning costs A$290 and if you choose to take this option you will be spending more time in the ocean instead of in the classroom! You can study now and refer to it any time you need during your Divemaster course. This is the same theory you will need if you also continue to your Instructor course.

If you are a total beginner, you can take our 2 month Zero to Hero program.

Other perks: Tec diving try-out, underwater photography try-out, Tips for guiding underwater photographers workshop, Compressor use workshop and practice sessions and a workshop to maintain your regulator.
Want to stay longer? For each additional week we only charge IDR 3,500,000! This is great value and only applies to people taking the PADI Divemaster course with Bali Scuba. Why not stay for additional weeks?
