The PADI technical diving system allows you to take a step-by-step approach. Take Tec 40 first and then come back for Tec 45 and Tec 50 whenever you have the time. You’ll get certified to that depth each time you take a course and progress deeper when you have the time, and you feel ready, for the next course.
PADI Tec 40
Your first technical diving certification course. You’ll dive down to 40 meters (120 ft) with double tanks and one decompression tank and breathe 50% oxygen for your decompression. To can start on your tec diving journey if you are an Advanced Open Water diver, Nitrox certified, and have done at least 30 dives (including 10 dives to 30 metres).
PADI Tec 45
Next step on the tec diving ladder after you have completed Tec 40. You’ll dive down to 45 meters (150 ft) with double tanks and two decompression tanks and breathe 100% oxygen for your decompression.
PADI Tec 50
After Tec 45 comes the most exciting level. Get certified to independently make deep technical decompression dives. Dive down to 50 meters (165 ft) on the Tec 50 certification course.
PADI Tec Instructor and Tec Deep Instructor
If you are already an Instructor you can take these courses with no technical diving experience required. You’ll learn everything you need to know about technical diving as you progress through these courses. Of course, if you are already a tec diver we can fast-track you through.
PADI Tec Instructor certifies you to teach Tec 40 students. As a Tec Deep Instructor you can teach all courses from Tec 40 to Tec 50.
